Join us under the starry skies for our mesmerizing Star Parties, hosted by the San Mateo County Astronomical Society in partnership with the City of San Carlos Department of Parks and Recreation. Twice each month, we transform Crestview Park in San Carlos into a gateway to the stars.
We have some state of the art digital telescopes which open a window to the universe, revealing the vibrant colors of distant nebulae, the intricate patterns of galaxies far beyond our own, and the mesmerizing dance of star clusters You’re not just observing; you’re immersing yourself in the grandeur of the cosmos. It’s a truly exhilarating experience for anyone fascinated by the mysteries of space.

- Celestial Showcase: Explore the heavens with high-powered telescopes. Jupiter? Saturn? The Orion Nebula? They’re all on display!
- Guided Constellation Tours: Our star experts will guide you through the constellations. Perfect for beginners and young astronomers!
- Astronomer’s Corner: Engage in fascinating talks with local astronomers. Learn about black holes, space exploration, and the latest in astronomy research.
- Family-Friendly Fun: Perfect for all ages! Kids and adults alike will be captivated by the beauty of the cosmos.

- All Ages Welcome: Whether you’re a seasoned stargazer or a curious newbie, there’s something for everyone.
- Telescope or No Telescope: We’ve got you covered with community telescopes. But feel free to bring your own gear!
- Dress for the Occasion: Nights can be chilly. Bring warm clothes and a blanket for a cozy stargazing experience.
- Weather: Keep an eye on the sky! If clouds or rain, excessive wind or fog appear, our star-gazing event will be canceled. Be sure to check the weather before heading out.
