Our annual family-friendly event will begin at 6 p.m. at the Society’s designated park, Crestview Park, 1000 Crestview Drive, San Carlos. Please RSVP here to let the Board know how many people will be in your party. We want to be sure enough food is purchased everyone. Then, feel free to arrive and leave at your convenience with the kids! Our party will be a potluck and is still called a barbecue since before COVID, we once barbecued there. When the City banned barbecuing at the parks, Ken Lum and his wife were generous enough with their time to cook food at their home and then bringing it to Crestview.
As in the past, the Society’s board members will provide main dishes. We are looking at getting some catering again. Feel free to bring any vegetables, salads, side dishes, desserts, and nonalcoholic beverages you would like to share. Try and label food for food allergies. Utensils will be provided but feel free to bring your own non-disposable (to be green) serving utensils for your dish. We will also be closing the voting (by current members) and installing the 2026 to 2027 SMCAS Board.
After the food festivities, there will be a Star Party. As usual, it will occur after sunset or around 8:30 p.m., so be sure to bring your telescope or just stay to look through other members’ ‘scopes!
