The Society annually supports the Gamble Garden’s Second Saturday event with solar activities. Come volunteer for a rare daytime event, Saturday, July 11, at the historic Gamble Garden, 1431 Waverley Street, Palo Alto. Volunteers are needed at 9:45 a.m. to man the membership table or to share our solar system model. The event runs from 10 a.m. to noon. However, additional telescopes with solar viewing capabilities are always welcome.
This is a free, fun daytime event in a beautiful location! If you are available to help or want more information, please contact Marion Weiler mgwe at pacbell.net. The Society has always been a popular attraction at this event for many years – this will be our sixth! We will be on hand with solar viewing telescopes to safely view live images of the Sun, hopefully including, solar flares and sunspots.
As in previous years, we will once again have the Rose Garden dedicated to our activities. Details about the Gamble event and location can be found at the event webpage. No need to register for the event if you volunteer.
All are welcome to attend the event.
